Brands often speak about attention as if they are entitled to it.
They are not.
Your customer is scrolling through hundreds of posts, advertisements, messages and recommendations every day. They do not care how long your campaign took to create or how many approvals went into it. They only care whether it is relevant, interesting or useful to them.
That means every piece of communication has to earn its place. The first few seconds matter. The message needs to be clear. The visual needs to stop the scroll, but the idea needs to give people a reason to stay.
Posting consistently is not enough if the content consistently says nothing.
Before publishing anything, I ask: why would someone who knows nothing about this brand stop and watch? If there is no strong answer, the content is not ready.
Attention is valuable. Brands need to start treating it that way.
